Episode Description:

Since the 1960s and 70s, it has been medically and technically possible to transplant organs such as heart, liver or kidneys from one person to another. 90,000 organs are transplanted annually worldwide. But not all scientists view this without criticism: What happens when an organ donor rears up on the operating table, even though he was just declared dead? What is it like for organ recipients who suddenly develop preferences or characteristics that were typical of the donor? “Science Panel” examines the risks and side effects of organ transplants.
