Episode Description:

Host Sam Gold brings to us an oped piece done by David DePaolo, president & CEO of, one of the web's authorities on the California Workers' Compensation system where he asks the question, "Why Doesn't Anybody Give A Dam About White Collar Big Money Insurance Fraud?

We visit by phone with Kelley Sedam, the widow of injured worker Robert Sedam who was denied medication and treatment by AIG insurance despite an award of "lifetime medical" care. You might recall that Kelley was a guest several episodes back along with Pat Goddard whose husband committed suicide after 3rd party administrator Gallagher-Bassett Services refused him treatment for his work incurred injuries. This was not the first suicide of a Gallagher-Bassett client.

We speak by phone with John McCarty, Esq., lead attorney in the Barriga vs Clark Foam lawsuit, with the Pedersen Law Firm of Irvine, CA about the ability of injured workers to file civil lawsuits against their employers and what the exceptions in the California Labor Code specifically are.

Peggy Sugarman, former executive director of the California Applicants' Attorneys Association backed and financed, "Voters Injured At Work" political organization, resigns as their consultant and does an "About Face" and joins the defense law firm of Grancell, Lebovitz, Stander, Barnes and Reubens, a prominent, statewide law firm devoted almost exclusively to the defense of Workers' Compensation cases. The firm takes great pride in a steady flow of "TAKE NOTHINGS" and similar decisions benefiting it's employer and insurance company clients. We look at the future of VIAW without Peggy.
