Episode Description:
Restorative Justice is a program that partners community members and police departments to provide an alternative approach to certain criminal offenses. It is designed to bring together offenders and victims, and their respective families, to achieve about a more meaningful resolution, with a focus on healing. Erin Freeborn, Executive Director of Communities for Restorative Justice, and Sgt. Matthew Pinard, of the Littleton Police Department discuss with Attorney Lilly the benefits, goals and process of Restorative Justice. This is a program poised to address some very real needs that would otherwise likely remain unsatisfied when certain offenders are simply "put through the system."
