This episode features a discussion of computer vision, the ability of machines such as robots and autonomous automobiles to visually perceive their surroundings in order to interact successfully with them. The guest is computer vision pioneer Gary Bradski, founder and CEO of the Open Source Vision Foundation, which includes among other things the world’s most popular library of computer vision software, an open source autonomous driving simulator, and a deep learning group that educates and advocates for artificial intelligence. Gary was also head of the computer vision team for Stanley, the early prototype driverless car that won the 2005 DARPA Grand Challenge and which now sits in the Smithsonian Institution. Martin Wasserman hosts.
