Episode Description:

Best known as the lead singer and guitar player of the band New Mercy Morning, Scott Logan has been performing and songwriting since he was 15. With the bands Three Days Down and New Mercy Morning, Scott has recorded 3 albums and has had several singles played on indie radio. Scott has performed as an opener for several national Christian artists such as Downhere, Seventh Day Slumber, Sara Groves, Geoff Moore, and Justin McRoberts.

In 2007, New Mercy Morning released their second album called Grace & Gratitude and while still very actively performing with the band, Scott is venturing out for the first time as a solo artist. "There is only so much you can put on a record," says Logan, "As a songwriter you want people to be able to hear your songs. Unfortunately there is not enough room on a New Mercy Morning album and not enough time during a New Mercy Morning show. As a band we need to focus on the songs we have already recorded but that doesn't mean that I stop writing. The question is what to do with these new songs. It just makes sense to head off to the side and do something on my own. It doesn't mean that the band slows down at all. It just means once in a while I might log a few more minutes on stage as the opener. It means I can play in venues that may not be able to fit the band. I'm really looking forward to getting out with some of the new songs I'm writing."
