Tim DeChristopher - This Is What Love Looks Like - It Will Only Grow
Tim DeChristopher's peaceful civil disobedience received a 2-year sentence in federal prison, a $10,00 fine and 3 years probation.
These are excerpts From Tim's official statement made July 26, 2011 at his sentencing hearing for disrupting a government agency engaged in what was later declared illegitimate.
The sentence is on appeal.
Tim was taken immediately to prison instead of having the usual 3 weeks to put his affairs in order and say goodbye to his friends and family.
Tim's heart felt statement is about unprotected public lands in Utah and public lands in general that some agencies are attempting to sell and instead can continue to be public lands.
The photos are of the Pasayten Wilderness. Protected public land - that is held for posterity - never to be sold.
The Pasayten's are in north central Washington state. East of Ross Lake and west of Tonasket.
In 1968 the Pasayten Wilderness was designated.
