A news and satire TV show like no other, Liberty News TV just passed its four-year anniversary, with 37 half-hour programs complete. LNTV, produced in Portland, Maine, by professional journalists who volunteer their time, began broadcasting shortly after the re-election of George W. Bush in 2004. The program is a non-profit venture funded solely by donations.
Each episode combines news, animation and biting political satire, intended to peel away misinformation about politics, religion and culture. But the program also offers ideas about more compassionate, progressive ways to live, including vegetarianism and downsizing the U.S. military. LNTV's editors never shrink from touchy subjects--but they use facts to make their case. For example, they have exposed U.S. stinginess abroad, created a hypothetical George Bush Presidential Library Amusement Park Ride, exposed stolen elections, and rocked the house with Larry Craig's Greatest Hits! Other topics of the past include U.S. prison brutality, challenging Theocracy (with a visit to the Holy Land theme park), and more recently, Myth Perceptions--The Sheriff's Tale, an award-winning short comedy that "Swift-Boats" Robin Hood. Every episode has something you've never seen on television before.
