Notes to stations:
This particular show is about my Dad who served on a B-17 in the 8th Air Force during World War II. I was always fascinated with his stories about the war and his many close scrapes with death. As he got older, he started going to WWII reunions and later needed my help in getting to them. I heard all sorts of stories from the people who were there that I have never heard anywhere else. Some of these are such great stories that I just had to share them. I only had a half hour and had to leave a lot on the cutting room floor, so I will do some follow-up shows in the future. Some have said the production quality, content-wise, is reminiscent of the History Channel or PBS. Of course my production skills are not of that caliber, but we are very proud of this show.
I thought the target audience was naturally going to be veterans, and it is. But we have been finding that women really have been enjoying the show too. Our show typically is of more local interest, but all of that has been edited out except for the introduction from our show host, Maria Lofquist. This episode will appeal to Americans everywhere.
