Detail For Show: A Progressive Voice

Show Description:

I primarily document subjects and topics that speak to the political discord of today and promote progressive alternative viewpoints.

The show gives a voice and face to events, rallies, speakers and documents the many voices that are that are out there, often hidden away that are working towards progressive change in this country. The show will look at issues impacting our changing economy, political issues in the Middle East, weapons trafficking, issues impacting our environment such as access to clean air and water, access to healthcare, a more inclusive GLBTIQ/A community and medical issues of the body and mind to name a few.

Whether it is an interview, a speaker talking, a political rally or a more complete documentary, I believe that instead of receiving snippets of information that we have a chance to be a witness to the events often as they unfold, sometimes with minimal editing or have the chance to become more informative.

Within the progressive movement I have filmed such notable speakers such as Noam Chomsky, Dr. Helen Caldicott, Medea Benjamin, Paul Krugman, Cornell West, Maude Barlow, Chris Hedges, Judith Butler and many people who are active who may not be noticed.

Notes to Stations About This Show:

I have provided now 42 shows while most are new since I got on pegmedia. I have also now shown over 100 shows I have made for Princeton Community TV in NJ where I also have volunteered over the last 3 years as camera and director. I have a following on my Youtube Channel which is still growing and recently close to 950K views and 2900 subscribers to that growing channel. My documentary work has also been shown at several film festivals in the US.

I have been picked up so far by 24 PEG stations which have downloaded a total 160 videos so far.

I am an independent producer in that I have all the equipment and software tools to make the videos and I do almost 100% of the work from per-production, filming, sound and video editing to getting the videos out on Youtube and here on Pegmedia.

My typical download format is 740 by 480. I am assuming that most stations do not broadcast in HD. Typically in the past stations are able to convert the videos to letter box. If that is a problem please tell me. I am also trying to keep my vi doe subjects more in safe zones..

I have an independent video production company "Leigha Cohen Video Productions" where you go to and see a more detailed biographical detail of myself, my work and awards. I often wear the many hats of Director, Producer, Filmmaker and Editor. I am also hoping to do more collaborative work in the near future.

I’ve had very long ties to being a progressive political activist. Often the work I show is linked to causes that I work in and support. I strongly believe in independent forms of communication and giving the public access to such information. My goals is to have my work being both educational and artistic. I strongly believe in using different ways to access my work, including using social media, film festivals and now attempting to expand upon my ongoing viewership on Public Access TV.

I will cover the download cost for my show for at least for some initial viewings.
