Thumbnails have been added to episodes of shows uploaded to PegMedia. This allows stations to get a quick feel for the nature of a particular show, whether it's a show on a set or one in the field, if there is a variety of shots or single camera, the number of particpants in a show, nature of graphics used and so forth.
The thumbnails appear in each episode detail page. They also appear on the two lists Recent Uploads http://www.pegmedia.org/index.php?q=msvr/recentup and Recent Downloads http://www.pegmedia.org/index.php?q=msvr/recentdl. Links to these pages are also available under "What's Happening" in the left hand column of PegMedia pages.
The Recent Uploads and Recent Downloads are particularly useful for stations looking for new shows or new episodes of shows they have run in the past. The format of the listing has been completely changed and now includes thumbnails of the shows.
Additionally the Recent Uploads and Downloads provide a good glimpse into what PEG broadcasting content is about. We can see the types of shows that look interesting to us as stations or producers and would potentially be interesting to viewers as well. We can also see the shows that seem to need some spark, even though their material might be interesting. Perhaps this might be a tool for us as producers and broadcasters to help refine our art?
